(((I hope it's ok if Barkwind is being RPed in two places @_@ maybe this is later on/earlier in the day?)))

Barkwind gazed at the kits from the medicine cat den. They were tumbling with each other, and he thought how he wished one of them could grow up to be the medicine cat, to take his place when he was gone. Tonight was another half-moon, and, once again, he had no apprentice to take to share tongues with StarClan. Maybe he could take one in - he knew some were maturing today. Suddenly, he noticed one that seemed different. She was a dark gray with white paws and tailtip, and she seemed to be gentle on the smaller kits. Not too rough. He smiled - this was just what he was looking for.

He stood and sniffed the air. Today it smelled like lilacs. His sister had smelled like that. He pushed that thought away. Nothing on Moon today, he reminded himself, then padded up to the kit. "Hello," he said kindly, knowing he hadn't exactly met her before. "I'm Barkwind, of course, the medicine cat. What's your name?" He sat and wrapped his tail around his paws tightly - a nervous habit. He anticipated her reply.

"Do you already have a mentor, Featherpaw?" he continued, feeling a bit strange asking this. For as long as he could remember, the leader would assign apprentices to warriors. But he knew medicine cats were different. Did every one of them have to go through this?

Barkwind smiled. "Since tonight seems like it'll be a half moon, let's go talk to Silverstar immediately. We'd best get this done soon as possible." He stood, his tail high in the air, looking back at Featherpaw. "C'mon, let's go!"

Barkwind trotted in happily and settled onto the floor of the cave. "Silverstar," he began, "I think it's time I take on an apprentice.

"If you wish so. You know what you have to do, don´t you? You just have to take your chosen apprentice to fallenstar caves. I can´t do anything more for you than comeing with you if you wish." Silverstar took a little pause as he saw Featherpaw. "Ah, you want to be the new medicine cat apprentice?" He asked the she cat friendly.
